Of course, I know how this happened. Days, hours, minutes, seconds passed and now I'm left with regret. Regret of opportunities never seized, of adventures never had, of dreams never realized. That's why I've decided to create this blog. 30 things to accomplish by 30. No excuses. Because one thing I can't stand is quitting and everyone knowing it.
Now, saying that, I have to acknowledge that this blog isn't entirely about my accomplishing those 30 things. It's about honing my writing skills and starting something. The other day I went to ArtPrize, and came across this quote, "The miracle isn't that I finished. The miracle is that I had the courage to start." I love this quote. Starting something is fucking hard. I get a constant bombardment of anxieties when I'm thinking about starting something. What-ifs keep me up at night.
But today I'm going to be courageous (and yes, I'm fully aware how cheesy that sounds). Here is my list to be completed no later than May 28th 2013:
1. Vacation in Europe
2.become a writer (get blog going)
3.find a job I love
4. quit retail (I hate it!)
5.be in a long-term relationship
6.get to know grand rapids
7. elope in las vegas
8. get in better shape
9.sing karaoke
10.meet a celebrity
12.go ice skating
13.be an extra in a movie
14.dance in public
15.read/throw away my forgotten books
17.wear a bathing suit (it's literally been YEARS)
18.for one summer, never wear jeans (I only own one pair of shorts)
19.find a style
20. spend more time with family
21.let myself have fun (sounds easy, but it isn't really)
22.go to a Red Wings game
23.join a church
24.cut out all fast food
25.pay bills (all of them)
26.dye hair brunette
27.move to europe
28.experience other cultures
29.expand palate (don't just eat chicken fingers and cheese pizza)
30.take a road trip to somewhere fantastic
